BEST TO DO LIST APP 2020 | NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS ACHIEVE FASTER

Happy new year everyone! This is avocado and welcome to my channel. I hope it’s been a great year for you and you must have a list of goals you want to achieve in the big year ahead, right? A.K.A New Year’s Resolution! In this episode I’ll be comparing five of the highly recommended to-do list apps which will help you achieve your goals faster. They are Things 3, Microsoft To Do, Any.Do, ToDoist and Apple’s very own Reminder app. I’ll be comparing these apps from three different aspects: Ease of setup, Ease of Creating a Task and Coverage of Functionality. Let’s check them out. First of all you might be wondering: why do I need a to-do list app? A to-do list app helps you organize tasks , set deadlines and remind you of what you are supposed to do on a particular date / time. For example, in the new year I want to lose 10 kilos and create a YouTube channel with my best friend. To help remind myself, I have created a repetitive task to run every weekend at 8 p.m. and a normal task to upload the first video and December 28th A user-friendly app should be directly usable after download Any steps in between are either for data collection purpose or UNNECCESARY! Out of the five apps, only Things 3 and Apple’s very own Reminder do not require setting up an account. The others ask you to register or to log in before you create your to-do lists A good to do-list app should be straightforward with less navigations and direct to the point. This is first demonstrated by creating a New Year’s resolution example Things 3: New Year’s resolution Tap the plus sign select new project. My New Year’s resolution is lose weight so I will type in lose weight add a task accomplished by clicking the plus sign. I will put take a walk after dinner at 7:00 p.m. and have a run every weekend [Music] [Music] and that’s for Things 3 Microsoft To Do: New Year’s resolution Swipe to the left then click the plus sign, I’ll put lose weight then select add task which is walk and run [Music] Any.Do: New Year’s resolution Tap the plus sign Now add lose weight to my list, open the list then add the task by clicking the plus sign. I’ll add a task and we’re taking a walk and running on weekends ToDoist: New Year’s resolutions I’ll add lose weight [Music] and walk [Music] and run, add a task [Music] apples reminder new year’s resolution Apple’s Reminder I’ll put lose weight task to my list Change the icon, click done I’ll open the list that I created earlier then select add reminder. I will add taking a walk after dinner and running on weekends [Music] Now that we’ve discussed how easy to set up and how easy to create and finish tasks. Let’s now have a look at some of the highlighted functionalities thes apps have. Thigns 3: import from other sources is one of the best features of Thigns 3 Just click settings then import select the apps that I want to import I will import my list from ToDoist with Things 3 Impressive! [Music] Microsoft To Do: one of its features is the mighty screen where I can add a task for today and add a background picture to it Let me add a task called Walk the cat [Music] This app can also suggest what tasks I need to focus on today. For me I need to focus on walking today and have a run Any.do one of the good features of Any.do is print to-do list directly from the app in the tree ellipses in the top right corner then print [Music] ToDoist: whatever tasks I create is also available on the web Apple reminders: select remind me when messaging. it’s not available in other To do list apps. In this video this functionality will notify me of the list if I message the person I added in list [Music] [Music] Now I hope you find to do apps helpful and ready to try to them out. As a senior programmer, using to-do list apps greatly improve productivity in my day-to-day life From the aspect of user interface, all apps are clean and simple design. However it took 32 steps for Things 3 to create my new year’s resolution and only 20 steps for ToDoist app, that makes ToDoist app outstanding in terms of UI design From the functionality perspective an app with lots of functions is good but it doesn’t mean that it’s a good app Because the more functions one has the more complex it will be for using the app Especially to-do list is such a simple use case. There’s no need to invent that may features. Although Any.do and ToDoist app have the most coverage of features Things 3 and Apple’s reminder app are the best from my professional view because it has all the essential functions and a couple of highlighted one that really useful [Music] To summarize this five apps are the best to do list apps so far in the market All of them have great features but for me Apple’s reminder and Things 3 win! Both apps are easy to use and have great functionalities Considering pricing They are the most cost effective where Apple reminder app is free and Things 3 is $10 one-time payment while other apps like Microsoft To Do is $99.99 annually which requires an Office 365 account Any.Do is at $71.88 annually and ToDoist is $29 annually And that’s it, that wraps up my review hope you like it click like and subscribe and leave a comment down below Thanks for watching! This is Appocado, I will see you next time [Music]
